Comfort Services

A number of services are available to provide relaxation and comfort to our patients during their stay. Please contact the Volunteer Resources Department at 203-276-7521 to make an appointment or to obtain more information about any of the following services.

Tender Touch

Specially trained volunteers are available to provide a gentle, therapeutic hand massage to help relieve stress, re-energize and relax.

Friendly Visits

Our patient care volunteers will provide friendly visits, whether for a chat, to read to you, play a game or provide companionship.

Health and Humor Associates

Our HAHA's provide specially trained, caring clown visits to patients routinely or to fulfill special requests. These clown doctors of mirth bring "gentle" cheer and smiles to patients of all ages, their families and visitors.

At Your Service

We provide personalized attention and services to patients, such as delivering newspapers, magazines or books, sending and receiving patient e-mail, providing games or puzzles, and filling coffee shop and/or gift shop requests.

Healing Hounds

Our pet therapy program helps bring comfort and cheer to many patients. The Healing Hounds pets and their trained owners make regular rounds at Stamford Hospital. A special visit may be arranged by calling 203-276-7521.
